It’s fitting that the word Empowered rounds out this program.
Let’s be honest: The goal of all the personal development work we do boils down to one thing: Personal Empowerment.
We all want to be the leaders of our own lives.
We want to be released from the shackles of self-doubt and second-guessing ourselves.
We want unquestioning faith in our ability to make decisions about what’s best for us.
We want permission to purse happiness and sovereignty, regardless of what other people think.
Empowerment enables you to own the fullest expression of yourself; and that’s what makes you unstoppable.
Living from a place of Empowerment means you set an Intention to stretch yourself and, if necessary, get uncomfortable to achieve the life you want.
It’s means demonstrating Gratitude by the way you live, and appreciating the abundance that already surrounds you.
It means staying on course and Navigating through the difficult times, especially when everything seems to be going wrong and the answers to make it right are unclear.
Living Empowered means having the courage to hold steadfast to your vision of what’s possible, and boldly taking action to achieve it.
It’s refusing to simply go through the motions of life and instead, being Tenacious about sticking to your commitment to your growth, fulfillment and happiness.
Embracing Empowerment means you encourage and inspire other women to show up in a grander way and honor themselves in their own lives.
Empowered living takes guts.
Here are 3 ways you move toward a more Empowered life:
1. Get out of your comfort zone.
Author Neale Donald Walsch wisely said, “Life begins outside your comfort zones.” He’s right.
If you want to practice feeling more empowered, try doing something that makes you feel uncomfortable. For example, does the idea of eating alone or seeing a movie alone make you feel awkward?
Then gently push yourself to try it. You will see that it’s not as bad as you think. In fact, it might feel empowering.
2. Speak your mind.
Nothing makes you feel more empowered and self-assured than giving yourself permission to speak up and say what’s on your mind.
Do you usually sit quietly in meetings at work? Try contributing to the discussion, instead. Offer suggestions or a fresh perspective on an old problem. If you are new to speaking up, you will probably feel uncomfortable at first. But, don’t let that stop you. You will get better with practice.
3. Say No.
This suggestion will probably be the most challenging, but it’s the most important.
Saying no is the best way I know to honor yourself. It’s a way to set limits and boundaries around your time and energy.
The next time you are asked to do something you really don’t want to do, give yourself permission to refuse. The pay off is that you will have more time to pursue activities that light you up and bring you joy.
